About the company

Alcon is an international company specializing in the manufacture of hygiene and medical products with a particular focus on eye care, especially contact lenses. Founded in 1945 in the USA, Alcon now has sites in 60 countries and supplies a total of 140 countries worldwide. With around 25,000 employees, the company is a major player in the industry. The Grosswallstadt site, which employs around 2,000 people, acts as a central competence center for research, development and production. Innovative contact lenses and modern production technologies are developed here. The recently completed expansion of the site, which was realized with an investment of 600 million euros, strengthens Alcon's position in Europe and enables the creation of over 600 new jobs.
