Basic requirement for admission to the Master’s degree programme in Mechatronics is a Bachelor of Science in Mechatronics from TU Darmstadt or an equivalent degree. It is possible to enter the programme with a BSc Mechanical and Process Engineering or BSc Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from TU Darmstadt thanks to special complementing elective modules in the corresponding Bachelor’s degree programmes. This additional study path option is visualised by the double H model on the right.
An important entry requirement for external applicants aiming for the Master’s degree programme is proof of adequate knowledge of mathematics, electrical engineering and information technology, mechanical engineering and computer science on a level that is comparable to graduates of thedegree programme B.Sc. Mechatronics at Technical University of Darmstadt. If this knowledge has not been fully acquired yet, special requirements will be imposed.
New regulations from winter semester 2012
In addition to an admission subject to special requirements, external applicants can be approved for a year of preparatory studies based on their knowledge from previous studies. Special requirements can be imposed based on the applicant’s individual knowledge from previous studies. The preparatory year is passed if all exams were passed. Passing the preparatory study programme in this case is a prerequisite for the enrolment in the degree programme M.Sc. Mechatronics at TU Darmstadt.
As the language of tuition of these courses is primarily German, a DSH-II or equivalent certificate is mandatory for all foreign applicants.
